We couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw the latest mascara – it’s for hair! Mascara Flash hair highlights by Christian Dior come in seven glowing shades, like Cobalt blue and Henna. (Fresh Green and Garnet Red hit counters soon.) You just stroke the stuff on – go subtle or bold – then brush it or wash it out when you’ve had enough. But the price brought tears to our eyes (good thing we wear way cheap, waterproof Maybelline mascara): It’s $19.50 per wand! (Don’t squint – you read that right.) To be fair to the Dior folks, they made it clear to us that they don’t market to kids, so they’re not trying to snatch away your allowance money or anything. But we saw Mascara Flash and knew lots of you would love it! We hoped that plain old colored eyelash mascara would offer us a cheap out, but it just gunked up our hair when we went that route. So, no stroke of genius there. But we’ll keep an eye out for cheaper knockoffs.
