It was CBS News’ turn at bat Thursday at the television press tour, and it finally revealed a title for Bryant Gumbel’s prime-time newsmagazine: “Public Eye With Bryant Gumbel.”
Reporters Bernard Goldberg, Peter Van Sant, Alison Stewart, Maggie Cooper and Derek McGinty were announced as the show’s regular core of correspondents, with Carol Marin a contributing correspondent.
Gumbel said the newsmagazine would augment taped reports with guests and live elements, stressing he has “no intention of producing a show that’s sleazy, cynical or manipulative.”
