The names of new subdivisions sometimes are wildly fanciful and have nothing to do with the reality of the setting.

Accuracy prevails, though, at the Preserves of Waterfall Glen. The new Burnside Construction Co. development in west suburban Darien is bordered on two sides by the Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve, and a three-tiered waterfall will be created at the entryway.

The land plan calls for 115 multifamily units to be built on the 19-acre, triangular-shaped property.

“It’s close to nature, and we designed it to stay that way,” said Jodi Satko, director of sales and marketing. She noted that two ponds and a park will add to the ambience.

Of the 29 buildings, nine will offer direct views of the forest, according to Satko. The mix will include 64 townhouses and 51 raised ranch plans, which provide single-level living.

The townhouses will range in price from $164,900 to $180,900 and in size from 1,625 to 1,915 square feet. Three floor plans are available.

The two raised ranch designs range in price from $161,900 to $170,900 and in size from 1,746 to 1,749 square feet. All residences will have attached two-car garages and two or three bedrooms.

Satko said five decorated models are expected to open late this fall, while the first occupancies will be early in 1998.

Waterfall Glen is located off a frontage road that parallels the south side of Interstate Highway 55 between Lemont Road and Cass Avenue.
