The Lake County sheriff’s and coroner’s offices are warning revelers to be careful this Fourth of July weekend.
“It is time to remind drivers and passengers alike. Safety belts, child safety seats, obeying the posted speed limits and driving sober is the message we want everyone to hear and to remember,” Coroner Barbara Richardson said in a release.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Police Marine Safety Unit issued four safety tips:
– Be alert for new or disoriented boaters.
– Do not operate a boat while intoxicated.
– Cooperate with marine unit patrols diverting traffic near fireworks displays.
– Do not use fireworks on a boat.
