Encore, encore: Past members of Lake Forest High School’s band may be gone, but they have not been forgotten. School band director Dennis Lindsay hopes a sufficient number of band alumni will join his 50-member wind ensemble May 20 to do justice to Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” in an alumni finale at the school’s annual spring concert.
“This is for all former LFHS band students. I don’t care how old they are, it would be nice to hear from them,” Lindsay said.
He will rehearse the alumni band with the wind ensemble on May 19. For more information and a copy of the sheet music, contact Lindsay at 847-234-3600, extension 186. By the way, as of press time Lindsay also was looking for a cannon.
