Carmel 3-10, Marist 1-6: Jerry McMahon doubled home the go-ahead run for No. 7 Carmel (16-4, 4-2) and scored on Matt Dana’s single in the seventh inning of Game 1. Steve Weidner added two hits and four RBIs for the Corsairs in Game 2.

Downers Grove North 11-4, Leyden 1-0: In the opener, John Lackaff went 4 for 4 to guide Downers North (11-6, 8-1 West Suburban Silver). Chris Nauss tossed a two-hitter in Game 2.

Fenwick 7, Providence 2: Fenwick (9-5, 6-3) won in the Catholic League with home runs by Charles Berry, Pat Santoro and Peter Newell, who launched a three-run shot. Jon Harsch (2-2) struck out 12 in the complete-game victory.

Geneva 11-8, Sycamore 1-2: Adam Peterik helped Geneva (12-3, 10-1) in Game 1 of the Suburban Prairie Red twin bill with two hits and two RBIs.

Herscher 12-4, Streator 1-0: Herscher (19-0) used three hits from Mike Parks to win Game 1. Justin Wenzelman (5-0) struck out 12 for the Game 2 victory.

Hinsdale Central 7, Morton 5: Tony Onesti (2 for 3) homered for the go-ahead run in the last of the sixth for the Red Devils (12-6, 6-3 West Suburban Silver).

Lake Park 6-9, Streamwood 5-0: Jon Federici and Todd Welch each had a home run among his three hits for Lake Park (8-7, 7-2 Upstate Eight). Federici had five RBIs and Welch three on the day.

Marian Catholic 4-15, St. Patrick 0-7: Phil Wail threw a three-hitter to give the Spartans (8-4, 4-2) the Game 1 victory in the East Suburban Catholic. Mike Leverence (three RBIs), Jon Jagielski and Matt Helge combined for nine hits and seven RBIs in the nightcap.

Montini 11, Lane Tech 1: Jake Ciarrachi (three hits) scored three runs and pitcher Brian Niedig (6-0) added two hits and two RBIs to lead Montini (14-6).

Plainfield 9-11, Morris 2-5: Andy Urbancic launched a three-run homer and Justin Hudetz and Jason Lewin added two-run shots to lead Plainfield (12-5, 9-2) in the Suburban Prairie Red. Urbancic added a solo home run in the second game, giving him six hits and four RBIs for the day.

St. Charles 11-6, Elgin 1-8: Tom Trayser threw a one-hitter in the opener for St. Charles, but Elgin (11-6-1, 8-4) rebounded from the Upstate Eight loss in Game 2 with two hits and two RBIs by Dan Terlep.

St. Francis 13-12, Wheaton Academy 1-2: Pat O’Donnell drove in three runs in the opener to help St. Francis (13-7) cruise in Game 1, and Nate Volk went 3 for 4 with three RBIs in the nightcap.

Waubonsie Valley 9-0, DeKalb 4-2: DeKalb (6-8, 4-8 Upstate Eight) won Game 2 as Matt Raih allowed four hits and fanned 10.

West Aurora 10-0, Larkin 0-2: In the opener, West Aurora (10-5, 8-4) won as Greg Miller allowed four hits and struck out 11 for the Upstate Eight shutout. Larkin (10-5-1, 8-4) recovered for a Game 2 triumph as Matt Krabbe fanned 11 and Jay Van Buren doubled in the winning run in the seventh.
