Thousands have already stepped right up to the “Midnight Circus” carnival/theater extravaganza at the tiny National Pastime Theater. But the “play” has recently catapulted to higher heights with a new roomier location at the Ivanhoe Theatre. The family-friendly spectacle, which explores what happens when a circus troupe breaks into a theater in the middle of a serious play, started a new open run at the theater last weekend and should be hanging around for a while. Where: Ivanhoe Theatre, 750 W. Wellington Ave. Phone: 773-975-7171. Tickets: $18.
