The City Council approved the selections of a city attorney and budget assistant, both of whom served under a previous administration.
The council approved Medard M. Narko as city attorney. Narko had served as the city’s attorney under former Mayor Jim Malecky but was replaced by attorney Mark Sterk of Odelsen & Sterk after Malecky lost his mayoral seat in 1994 to Jim Richmond. Richmond was defeated by Patrick Gordon in the April 1 election.
The City Council approved the appointment of Dwayne Fox as budget officer, a yearlong, part-time appointment. Fox served as city treasurer in the Malecky administration and won re-election in 1994.
