Construction workers who had joined a nationwide strike returned to work this week at two school sites in Lake County, officials said.

With members of Road Sprinkler Fitters Local 669 back on the job, projects in Woodland School District 50 in Gages Lake and Warren Township High School District 121 in the Gurnee area will probably be completed on time, local officials said.

In the Warren Township district, a $37.7 million building has been under construction since May. In the Woodland district, construction began on a $36 million middle school in February 1996 and is expected to be completed by fall.
