A 40-year-old Mt. Prospect man was killed when his car skidded out of control Tuesday night and struck several trees along the westbound lanes of Euclid Avenue, about one-half mile west of Milwaukee Avenue, police said.

The victim was identified as Ronald Paul, said Cook County sheriff’s police spokeswoman Penny Mateck.

The crash occurred at 9:05 p.m. when Paul’s westbound 1991 Chevrolet went over a curb, skidded on wet grass and mud, spun 180 degrees and struck several trees, she said.

The victim was partially ejected from the car and was taken by Glenview firefighters to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead at 9:47 p.m., officials said.
