As graduations, weddings and showers begin to appear on the calendar, there’s always a need for extra seating when entertaining guests at home.

Tablescapes, created nine years ago by Kathy Ruff and Martha Olson, who introduced fine china, crystal and silverware to the rental market, can help.

A new division of the company, dubbed Tablescapes Design, now offers a line of ballroom chairs that not only look attractive but are stackable, up to eight chairs high, which makes transporting and storing them easier.

The three styles currently available are the Classic, Chiavari and Formal, the latter modeled after the chairs used in the White House for state dinners.

The Classic rents for $5.75 a chair, the Chiavari for $7.50 and the Formal for $8.75.

All three chairs are bentwood; have removable, interchangeable silklike seats in ivory, white or black; and come in gold-gilded finishes.

The Formal chair also is available in mahogany.

If you wish to purchase these chairs, they sell for $73 to $87 per chair.

To see the chairs or other rental selections, visit the Tablescapes showroom at 1840 W. Hubbard St.; 312-733-9700.
