A 14-year-old Schiller Park boy was referred to juvenile authorities Saturday after he allegedly stabbed a 21-year-old man twice in the back inside the Des Plaines Theater, 1476 E. Miner St., police said.
The victim, Ryan Heider of Arlington Heights, was in fair condition Monday at Holy Family Medical Center with a punctured lung, authorities said.
Des Plaines Det. Larry Marks said the incident started as a traffic dispute at Lee and Oakton Streets.
He said that the suspect and a group of his friends allegedly waved a baseball bat at Heider and his girlfriend from their moving auto and that later the two groups encountered each other by chance in a concession line at the theater, he said.
Inside the auditorium, a fight ensued and the teen allegedly stabbed Heider, Marks said.
