The Village Board this week unanimously approved a three-year contract with its police union.
The contract, ratified by members of the Metropolitan Alliance of Police on March 14, calls for a retroactive pay increase of 3.6 percent for the 1996-97 fiscal year for all 105 union officers. The salary range for officers during this fiscal year is $31,838 to $48,354.
The contract also includes 3.6 and 3.5 percent pay increases for fiscal year 1997-98 and 1998-99, respectively. Other aspects of the contract include language regarding scheduling for beat assignments and flexibility in how vacation days can be used, according to the village.
