Pontarelli Builders purchased the site of the former St. Joseph Seminary from the Archdiocese of Chicago for $9.2 million, and plans to construct 420 residences in nine brick five- and six-story elevator buildings.
Prices start at $124,900 for a one-bedroom, one-bath unit; from the high-$170,000s to the mid-$200,000s for a two-bedroom, two-bath unit; and from the mid-$230,000s to $250,000 for a three-bedroom, two-bath unit.
The first building, at 7031 Touhy, is expected to be completed this spring, with two others ready by the summer.
The land plan for the 13.5-acre site calls for 5.5 acres of open space, including four fountains, one at the entrance.
Standard features at the Renaissance include private balconies, eat-in kitchens, master suites with walk-in closets, in-residence laundry room, central air conditioning, heated indoor parking and video-monitored entry system.
The architect is Environmental Designs Inc., a Pontarelli subsidiary.
