Crete-Monee school officials are looking into reports that four members of the high school wrestling team have ringworm, a contagious skin disease.
In the meantime, school employees are scrubbing wrestling mats with bleach, according to Crete-Monee Athletic Director Len Motta.

The issue was raised Tuesday at a Board of Education meeting by Crete resident Mike Turay, whose sons are student-athletes. He called on Crete-Monee officials to require that wrestlers bring clean uniforms.
Turay previously has complained about student-athletes’ lack of access to shower facilities.
