Three people were arrested for alleged involvement in a series of car burglaries last week, police said Tuesday.

Thomas Ring, 24, of 938 Jefferson Square, faces nine counts of burglary to auto for allegedly breaking into nine vehicles on Jan. 7 and 10. He is being held in Cook County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Carly Williams, 18, of 920 Ridge Square, faces six counts of burglary to auto for allegedly acting as a lookout for six of those burglaries on Jan. 7 on Boardwalk. Williams was released on a signature bond.

A 15-year-old girl, who also allegedly acted as a lookout, is expected to be petitioned into juvenile court, police said.

Ring was arrested about 1 a.m. Jan. 10 after police responded to a report of a person breaking into a vehicle.

Officers found a bag containing stereo parts under a bush and saw Ring walking. Ring allegedly changed his direction of travel when he saw the officers, police said.

During questioning, Ring allegedly admitted the nine burglaries, police said.
