COUNTY MAY SEEK TO LIMIT CELL TOWERS

Kane County officials are expected to urge the legislature to allow Kane and other counties to regulate zoning of telecommunications facilities in unincorporated areas.

“This allows revisions in law so we have some control over the (cellular) towers,” said County Board member Paul Greviskes (D-Aurora) during a meeting of the board’s Executive Committee on Wednesday. “At this point, they can come in with little or no approval.”

The full County Board is expected to consider the resolution during its meeting Tuesday.
