Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

“Wipeout XL” from Psygnosis is the sequel to last year’s “Wipeout.” “Wipeout XL” takes players on a race using futuristic racers. There are eight tracks to choose from and four racing classes. There are also 15 ships and 11 weapons.

“Wipeout XL” can be really fun, but only once you have gotten the hang of the controls. It can be very tough trying to master the curves and at the same time reach a marker to keep yourself in the game. Your race has an energy bar, meaning that not only do you have to worry about the others ahead of you, but you’ll also have to worry about blowing up. If your racer is damaged, then you can make a pit stop.

The graphics on “WXL” are vintage PlayStation. It’s available for about $50.
