The Elmhurst Park District has hired a former Evanston Park District employee as its new executive director.
Park commissioners agreed to offer Richard D. Grodsky a three-year contract. He will earn $92,000.
Grodsky, 41, along with Park District director of parks and planning Steve Plumb, were among the finalists in the nationwide search. Commissioners who voted for Grodsky said they believe his experience supervising a $7.2 million budget and 85 full-time employees and 400 part-time employees in Evanston were among his strongest qualities.
