School District 122 officials are seeking Village Board support for efforts to beef up school finances in a Nov. 5 election.
With enrollment growing by more than 200 students a year, the district is asking voters to approve a $19.5 million building bond issue and an increase in the education fund tax rate.
The building bonds would not add anything to local tax bills, but the education fund increase would add $12.50 a month to the tax bill of a $150,000 house, school board member Nancy Binion said.
The rate has not gone up for 20 years, Binion said.
The district needs more school construction, teachers and materials, officials said.
