Army and environmental regulators will discuss the removal of unexploded ordnance from historic Ft. Sheridan at a committee meeting Wednesday. Officials have been removing unexploded ordnance, including grenades and ammunition at a former firing range near the lakefront.
Working with the Army as well as officials from the state and federal Environmental Protection Agencies is a citizens advisory committee called the Ft. Sheridan Restoration Advisory Board.
It will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Building 900 at the base to discuss the ordnance removal. Building 900 can be reached only by using the northernmost Sheridan Road entrance to the base.
