In what Chairman Warren Kammerer called a bittersweet moment, the Kane County Board Tuesday honored George Burger for his nearly 20 years of service as a member and vice chairman of the Kane County Regional Planning Commission.
Burger, executive director of the Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation, is a nationally known environmentalist and author of numerous articles on wildlife and its habitats in Kane County.
“This is a bittersweet moment because Dr. Burger has done such great service to the county, but it also gives us the chance to see he gets the recognition he deserves,” said Kammerer, a Republican from St. Charles.
