Upset of the Week: Utah 45, Kansas 42. Is it really an upset when a Big 12 team goes down? Mike Fouts, nephew of former NFL great Dan Fouts, led the Utes with 476 yards passing and threw the winning TD pass with 1:39 to go.
Flop of the Week: Virginia Tech. The nation’s longest major-college win streak ends at 13 games as the Hokies are slaughtered 52-21 by previously winless Syracuse.
Player of the Week: Orlando Pace. Ohio State’s stellar left tackle probably can’t win the Heisman Trophy because he’s an offensive lineman. But he helped flatten Notre Dame’s national title hopes.
Up next: Four ranked Big Ten teams go head-to-head on the same afternoon. It’s No. 22 Northwestern taking on sixth-rated Michigan in Evanston and third-ranked Ohio State meeting No. 4 Penn State in Columbus.
