The Police Department got an infusion of crime-fighting cash when the Village Board authorized a special investigative fund Tuesday.
The policy adopted by trustees allocates $300 a month for undercover work to catch drug dealers by paying informants to buy marijuana and other controlled substances.
The money will be drawn from the village’s drug-forfeiture fund, and expenditures will be limited to $50 for each incident.
