Rehabilitation work on Deer Creek School in University Park, which could begin in September, will leave intact the office space, gymnasium and theater, Supt. Steven Humphrey said last week.
Construction companies that will be doing the work may begin bidding this month.
Plans by Crete-Monee District 201-U call for dedicating Deer Creek as the middle school for Crete-Monee students in 7th and 8th grades when that University Park facility reopens.
Exterior work at Deer Creek could be completed by December, and interior work could be completed before the beginning of the 1997-98 school year, Humphrey said.
