Q. How can I get my partner to have sex with me? We have a fear of pregnancy, but we have used three forms of birth control at the same time (the pill, a condom and contraceptive foam). Please help; I am desperate.
A. If two people are using three types of birth-control devices and one of them continues to say they don’t want sex because of a fear of pregnancy, then there is something else going on here. It could be some religious or moral belief, but people who have a moral problem are usually willing to communicate it, so my guess is that there is a fear of commitment. To some people, having sex implies that the relationship should continue right up until marriage. If you want to remain with this partner, you should have an open talk, and if that doesn’t work, then you should probably see a sex therapist together.
