Q. I know that you don’t believe in one-night stands, but do you think that premarital sex is OK if the two people love each other?
A. You are right, I do not believe in one-night stands. They are dangerous, especially with STDs and, most seriously, AIDS. I can never say OK to premarital sex either because I would have to know a lot more about the two people involved, including their religious beliefs, their values, their backgrounds. For some people it is perfectly all right, as long as they use a contraceptive, and for others the right time is to wait until the night after the wedding ceremony because that fits best into their lifestyle.
