The Navy is seeking relatives of missing Marines from the Korean War era.

According to Ann Hammers of the Marine Corps’ Casualty Section, which serves as a liaison between the government and families of unaccounted-for Marines, files from the 1950s have become sparse and the department is looking to update and expand its list.

Eligible relatives receive a quarterly Department of Defense newsletter containing information about prisoners of war and those missing in action.

Families can contact Hammers at 1-800-847-1597.
