Police said Todd Reiss, 30, of 17 W 215 Crest Ave., was walking through the parking lot of Club Fever, 3201 Algonquin Rd., Saturday night, when he apparently got too close to the protective goose’s nest.
The goose, which police said often approaches people who come near her roost, allegedly waddled toward Reiss. However, after the goose returned to her nest, Reiss allegedly ran toward her and kicked it “like he was punting a football,” police said.
However, Reiss allegedly continued kicking it. He also kept kicking it after it took off running, police said.
Reiss was charged with attempting to destroy a migratory waterfowl nest and attempting to take a federal migratory animal that is not in flight. In addition, he was charged with two counts of battery for allegedly elbowing one police officer in the face and hitting another officer in the chest while they were arresting him.
He also was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property for allegedly damaging a police radio.
He is being held on $30,000 bond at Cook County Jail.
