Commissioners reappointed Library Board President Stephen Daniels to a four-year term on the board and named residents Kathy DiCola, 44, and David Upshaw, 36, to fill two vacancies on the six-person board.
DiCola, a co-owner of DiCola Seafood in the village, will serve the remainder of the late Robert Zechel’s term through April 1997. Upshaw, a Chicago attorney, will serve the remainder of Martin Smith’s term through April 1997. Smith stepped down from the Library Board this year after a career switch brought about a move from the village.
Upshaw said the expansion project at the library, 1020 Curtiss St., which was narrowly approved by a villagewide referendum vote, is the biggest reason he sought the seat on the board. “I really wanted to be a part of this,” he said.
