A masked man robbed a bakery store of an unspecified amount of cash after placing what the victim believed was a handgun against the back of her head, police reported Monday.
The incident occurred Thursday at around 9:05 p.m., just after the Sara Lee Bakery Outlet store, 1357 N. Rand Rd., locked its doors for the evening, police said.
Police said an employee locked the door after the final customer left, but apparently the door did not lock. As the employee, 23, was counting out the day’s receipts in an office, a man placed what the victim believes was a gun against her head and told her not to turn around. He ordered her to place the money in a bag, police said. The woman complied.
The suspect then fled out the front door and headed north toward Dundee Road, police said.
