A McHenry County grand jury has indicted four Crystal Lake-area men on charges of aggravated battery and mob action after the defendants were accused of punching and kicking a 20-year-old man who was pulled from his car this month.
Indicted last week were Robert J. Walker, 20, of 345 1st Court, Crystal Lake; and Ronald F. Bryant, 21, of 6802 Columbine St.; Daniel J. Hurley, 19, of 4129 Hickory Terrace; and Hector G. Lira, 20, of 7512 Pingree Rd., all of unincorporated Crystal Lake.
According to Crystal Lake police, the four men admitted being gang members. Police alleged the four approached a man about 6 p.m. April 10 at Ballard and Briarwood Roads.
The man tried to drive away but was pulled from the car and beaten, police said.
