Police have charged two teenagers and are searching for a third suspect in connection with a string of March armed robberies, authorities said Thursday.

Terrance Perry, 18, and Andre Johnson, 17, were charged with four counts each of armed robbery and four counts of armed violence, according to Capt. Don Johnson.

Johnson said the teens, wearing long leather coats, brandished a small-caliber semiautomatic pistol while demanding money at four businesses: Mike’s Pizza House, 322 S. Elmwood Ave.; Comfort Inn, 3031 Belvidere Rd.; Four Five Six Mandarin Chinese Restaurant, 916 Greenwood Ave.; and Jim’s Pantry, 625 Greenwood Ave. The first robbery, at Mike’s Pizza House, occurred March 16, and the most recent was on March 27 at the Comfort Inn.

After they grabbed varying amounts of cash, the suspects would flee in a waiting car, said police, who are looking for the driver.

Johnson said Detectives Michael Taylor and Artis Yancey questioned Perry, who allegedly admitted to the crimes and implicated Johnson, who was then arrested.
