player ready...Town meetings are scheduled next week in Darien and Elmhurst to offer residents information about the county’s upcoming request for a property-tax increase to fund an addition to DuPage County’s overcrowded juvenile detention center.
The referendum will be on the ballot countywide in the Nov. 7 election.
The four County Board members from District 3-Barbara Purcell, Patricia Bellock, Gertrude Coit and Kenneth Moy-will discuss the issue at a meeting for residents at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Hinsdale South High School, 7401 S. Clarendon Hills Road, Darien.
A similar meeting for residents of District 2, sponsored by board member Olivia Gow, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Elmhurst City Hall, York Road and Third Street.
DuPage Juvenile Court Judge Robert Anderson is among the speakers at both forums.
