Downers Grove North: No. 2 Downers Grove South improved to 35-3 as it defeated Naperville Central 15-8, 11-15, 15-3.
Downers dominated Game 1, leading 8-2 and 11-5. Naperville came back with a 5-0 lead in Game 2 behind Deborah Welsh’s five service points. Downers closed the gap to 8-5, but Jamie Oelke had four service points to make it 12-5. It went to 12-11 and then Molly Mason had a couple of service points and a service ace from Welsh to finish the game. In Game 3, with Downers up 4-3, Kristen Williams rattled off 10 consecutive service points, highlighted by four kills and a block from Tracey Marshall. Liz Ortegel (39 assists) served the final point.
Crystal Lake South: No. 4 Crystal Lake South improved to 33-4 with its 15-0, 15-7 victory over Cary-Grove. Michell Pahl had 10 assists and six service points, Jaime Johnson six kills and 11 service points, and Gretchen Young three kills and three blocks.
Crystal Lake Central: No. 5 Crystal Lake Central (35-2) defeated Johnsburg 15-10, 16-14 after breaking a 6-6 tie in Game 1 with four straight points. Central went up 12-8 and increased that lead to 14-8; Johnsburg had a mini-rally to get as close as 14-10, but got no closer.

In Game 2, Central jumped out to a 5-1 lead, but Johnsburg went ahead 7-6. Central scored five straight points behind the serving of sophomore Karen Milborn (four points after coming off the bench). Johnsburg trailed 11-7, but came back and scored six straight to take leads of 13-11 and 14-12. Central tied the score at 14-14 with Laura Graham getting three straight serving points, the final a game-winning ace. Darcie Bender was 31 of 36 setting for Central.
Elk Grove: No. 7 Rolling Meadows (32-5) swept Elk Grove 15-6, 15-3 as Amy Hanson had six kills and Erica Vigadi and Effie Zaharopoulos added five apiece. Hanson also had four aces and Nicolee Swaback tallied 19 assists.
Libertyville: Amanda Marquart had 13 points, including two aces, and Jessica Parsons contributed eight kills to give Libertyville (27-10) the 15-7, 15-4 sweep over Round Lake.
Deerfield: Tauja Catchings’ 32 kills led Stevenson (31-5-1) past Lake Forest 15-12, 8-15, 16-14.
Schaumburg: Conant (20-12) eliminated Barrington 15-12, 12-15, 15-8 as Tracy Schader had 16 kills, Nola Jean Dobratz seven kills and seven blocks and Kelly Sallmen 19 assists.
Lake Zurich: Carmel (22-8) defeated Mundelein 6-15, 15-8, 15-3 behind Carrie Gmeiner (10 kills), Sarah Worklan (eight kills) and Gina Langer (23 assists).
