Being good at something, or even great, does not guarantee legendary status. But the Tribune’s Jim Yuenger’s all-too-early departure from this life and these pages brings the word “legend” to mind.
As a writer he took me places I could never go. As a colleague on the radio he took my listeners places they could never go. He never refused a call in the middle of the night or early morning from a home-town radio program “on air,” and he was eager to share his location and experiences. I will never forget and will always appreciate his “going live” from around the world.
He made us smarter because he took the risks. Goodbye, Jim, and many thanks.
