Mortal Kombat 3, released to the arcade-playing public only two months ago, receives yet another push with a book by Jeff Rovin.
Best known for strategy books based on the video game industry’s more popular titles, Rovin’s “Mortal Kombat” (Boulevard Publishing, $4.99) gives in-depth, behind-the-scenes action of the tournament. He also provides the origins of all seven original warriors from the first game (Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya Blade, Kano, Johnny Cage, Liu Kang and Rayden). Chinese mythology is used to flesh out the MK tourney’s unique and mysterious history.
Mortal Kombat the game is known for having a great story to back up its incredible graphics; MK the novel only does it justice.
