McHenry County is planning to pay a consultant $10,000 to reduce crowding among county employees in the government center on North Seminary Avenue.
The County Board’s Finance Committee on Wednesday tentatively approved the study to determine how to make better use of space in the government center and thus avoid new construction.
The county’s Health and its Planning and Development Departments are currently experiencing overcrowding problems in the center’s annex building, said Alex Orsolini, a County Board member and chairman of the county’s Management Services Committee.
The $10,000 expenditure needs to be approved by the full County Board.
