The Village Board on Tuesday night unanimously approved the annexation of 72 acres at Randall Road and Huntington Drive North.
The board also approved preliminary plans for the Sherman Family Health Care Facility of Sherman Hospital in Elgin. The 37,000-square-foot outpatient treatment center would rest on 8.9 acres of the newly annexed land, across the street from Jacobs High School.
The treatment center would include an urgent-care center, doctors’ offices, occupational medicine and physical-therapy clinics, X-ray rooms and conference rooms.
Sherman Health System Inc., which operates Sherman Hospital, bought the 8.9 acres from the Eugene Olsen family.
