The Park District will make a bid to purchase a 54,000-square-foot, one-story building on Central Road in the village for use as new headquarters, said Steven Durlacher, director of operations for the parks.

The building, which sits on a 4.8-acre site at 1000 W. Central Rd., east of Busse Highway, currently houses a printing and binding business, but is for sale, he said.

If the district succeeds in the purchase, it will quickly move its administrative offices from current headquarters at Lions Park, 411 S. Maple St.
