The city is forming a redistricting commission to examine ward boundaries and recommend changes, said Mayor John P. Sirotti.

The City Council is expected to discuss the commission at its meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall, 17 Highwood Ave.

The city is divided into four wards. The commission is being formed because of population shifts, Sirotti said. Highwood’s population dipped from 5,452 in the 1980 census to 5,331 in 1990.

Commission members will be appointed by Sirotti, with advice and consent of the City Council. People interested in serving on the commission should contact the City Collectors office at 432-1924.
