CBS affiliates ended their three-day meeting Friday night in Los Angeles with a splashy dinner party, during which dozens of the network’s new and old stars-including Candice Bergen, Dan Rather, Jane Seymour, Cybill Shepherd, Christine Baranski, Don Johnson, Patricia Wettig, Bob Barker and “The Price Is Right” models-shared tables.
CBS is placing a lot of weight on the shoulders of new dramas like “Central Park West,” from the creator of “Melrose Place” and “Beverly Hills 90210,” and the Montel Williams’ vehicle “Matt Waters,” as well as sitcoms “Almost Perfect,” “Can’t Hurry Love,” “If Not for You” and “The Bonnie Hunt Show,” which is set at a Chicago TV station. All the shows target the “Seinfeld”/”Friends” crowd.
