Investigators Monday were trying to determine what started a fire that caused $80,000 damage to a house Sunday.

The Fire Department responded to a call at 1002 N. Drury Lane, and discovered a blaze in the basement of the home, said Deputy Chief Charles Kramer. The fire was extinquished within 10 minutes; there were no injuries.

The fire appears to have been started accidentally, but the official cause is still under investigation, Kramer said.

“The fire is accidental, but we always have a fire investigator look through to determine exactly what might have happened,” Kramer said.
