What’s the most useful hour of the day for working mothers? The lunch hour. Working Mother magazine polled its readers on they use their midday break. Here’s what they said:
A date with hubby. Too frazzled to talk when they get home, many women steal precious time alone with their husbands over lunch.
Visiting the kids. Some breastfeed infants; others visit child care or volunteer at school.
Errands, errands, errands. Many race through grocery aisles, keeping a cooler in their car for perishables.
Unwinding. Some read, take a piano lesson, watch soaps, organize photo albums or even sew on a portable machine brought to work.
Exercising. These moms hit the gym, jog, even ice skate.
