When police stopped a car for license plate violations being driven by a Chicago man, they discovered that he was a convicted criminal who allegedly escaped from a Detroit prison more than two years ago.
On Tuesday at 1:30 a.m., police said they saw Michael Dennis, 21, of 13344 S. Greenwood Ave., Chicago, driving a 1986 Pontiac 6000 without front license plates, near Hintz and Old Buffalo Grove Roads.
Through fingerprints, police learned he was wanted for escaping from a minimum security facility while serving a two-year sentence for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Arlington Heights police charged him with felony obstruction of justice and numerous traffic citations.
