St. Charles developers Rich Faganel and Ron Russell presented plans to a City Council committee to build 164 single-family homes and 93 townhouses on 80 acres north of the Charlestowne Mall. The Planning and Development Committee tabled a decision until Thursday.
In Geneva, Airhart Construction Co. of West Chicago presented a proposal to the Plan Commission to build 96 homes on 50 acres at the southeast corner of Illinois Highway 25 and the Chicago and North Western railroad tracks. The commission continued a hearing on the plan until May 8.
Commissioners also heard a preliminary proposal for a 35-acre commercial center on the west side of Randall Road between Fargo Boulevard and Glen Eagle Drive. The commission scheduled a hearing next month on the plan by Quad Cities-based Dial Corp.
In Batavia, the City Council’s Community Development Committee approved the final plat for the Hazelwood Pointe subdivision, an 18-lot residential development planned for the southeast corner of Raddant and Geise Roads. The committee also endorsed a Park District plan to purchase and renovate the former Holy Cross Catholic Church and school at Van Buren and Wilson Streets.
