Village leaders are expected to announce Saturday a plan to develop a 235-acre golf course at Gregg’s Landing, a planned luxury community on the former Cuneo farm site.
In the mid-1980s, the Libertyville Township Open Space District tried unsuccessfully to acquire some of the Cuneo land and preserve it for open space.
The land for the golf course is being donated to the village by the Zale Companies, the Buffalo Grove-based developer. But it is up to the village to figure out how to pay for any design and construction of the golf course.
Saturday’s announcement is slated for 9:30 a.m. in the Vernon Hills council chambers.
