The City Council this week awarded two public works contracts totaling more than $275,000.
The city will pay $185,036 to Elburn-based Dempsey Ing Inc., to install a water main in the Geneva Business Park property east of Kirk Road and north of Illinois Highway 38.
The project is needed to promote development in the park and adjacent industrially zoned property, said Geneva public works director Tom Talsma.
The council also awarded a contract worth $90,388 to Pyramid Concrete Inc., of Roselle, to repair sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and to patch pavement in various locations.
The council also approved a resolution authorizing the sale of property on the west side of City Hall to the Geneva Public Library for $50,000.
