When the flu bug bites, who handles the illness better? Women believe they are the superior sufferers.

In fact, 90 percent of the 500 women polled by EDK Forecast, a New York-based trend-tracking firm, report that women are better prepared to endure the sniffles, queasiness and other unpleasantries than their spouses or boyfriends.

Further, 44 percent describe their partner’s sick-time behavior as “unbearable. He depends on me for everything.”

However, 51 percent of those polled concede that their partner “handles being sick pretty well.”

Finally, though, the men fail to get high marks for caring for their sneezing spouses.

Fifty-five percent of the women report that they deliver far better care to their ailing partners than they receive from them.
