Hersey 60, Palatine 44: The victory gave No. 12 Hersey (18-3, 8-0) its second consecutive Mid-Suburban League North Division title, and fourth in five years. The Huskies used a 7-0 second-quarter run to take command and never trailed. Chris Nowinski led the way with 11 points and eight rebounds.
Lyons Township 48, Glenbard West 32: The visitors from Glen Ellyn slowed the tempo and were ahead of Lyons’ West Suburban Silver leaders 18-17 at the half before the Lions took command in the third period. Dennis Carroll led the winners with 14 points.
De La Salle 81, St. Benedict 47: Matt Macievic scored 23 points as De La Salle (13-7) opened a 41-17 halftime lead in cruising to the non-conference victory.
Timothy Christian 65, Illiana Christian 44: Dave Deters scored 12 points for Timothy (17-6, 11-3) in the Private School League.
West Aurora 51, Lockport 47: Torin Glover’s 12 points paced West Aurora (12-7) to the non-conference victory. Lockport (10-10) rallied in the fourth quarter and closed to within 44-40 with :54 left.
Providence 63, Montini 56: Matt Schultz scored 25 points, including six three-pointers, and sophomore Dorian Williams added 20 points for Providence (13-9) in the non-conference game.
Wheaton Christian 69, Chicago Christian 63: Matt Hockett scored 22 points and Rob Mouw added 21 points, seven assists and six steals as Wheaton Christian (13-9, 8-7) prevailed in the Private School League.
Mt. Carmel 58, Hales Franciscan 54: Marlo Miles scored 13 points, Jay McAuley 11 and Dan O’Connor 10 for Mt. Carmel in the non-conference game.
Providence-St. Mel 74, Francis Parker 45: Tim West’s career-high 31 points and Bakari Autman’s triple-double-13 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds-led St. Mel (7-14).
